Bob Marley’s Grandson Skip Marley has been named among the nominees for the 2017 BET awards.
The young Reggae singer, who is the son of Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella, has been nominated for this year’s staging of the BET awards in the Best New International Act category.
The achievement follows a breakout year for the young crooner, who soared to international stardom after being featured on Pop superstar Katy Perry’s Chained To The Rhythm.
The single even managed to create some significant family history for the young Jamaican, as he became the first Marley to crack the top 5 of the coveted Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with the collaboration.
The BET Awards will be held at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on June 25. The event will feature performances from Bruno Mars, Chris Brown Lil Wayne, Future, Migos, Trey Songz and others.
