    Siblings Take Primary and Secondary Junior Calypso Monarch

    Siblings Kristian ‘lil kris’ Christopher and Kristiana ‘Singing Kristy’ Christopher took home the Primary and Secondary Junior Calypso Monarch crowns.

    Kristian ‘lil kris’ Christopher of the Layou Government held onto his crown in the 2017 Primary school category of the Junior Calypso monarch held at Victoria Park on Tuesday afternoon with his song “Celebrating 40 Years”. Coming in 2nd place was Ziel ‘Still Ziel’ Cain of New Prospect Primary and 3rd place went to Jontial ‘De man Jon-T’ Burke of Paradise Primary Bequia.

    In the Junior Secondary School Calypso Singing Tia was dethroned by Kristiana ‘Singing Kristy’ Christopher of Thomas Saunders Secondary with her song “Fragmentation”. 2nd place went to Damian ‘Boney Man’ Noel of St Martin Secondary and 3rd Daleann ‘Lady Dale’ Nero of Sandy Bay Secondary

    In the Junior Soca Monarch competition, M’riah ‘Young Saiah’ Robertson of West St George Secondary took the crown with her song “Carnival Hot”, dethroning Singing Kristy who had to settle for 2nd place and 3rd place was awarded to Delisha ‘Soca D’ Brackin of Sandy Bay Secondary.
