Lil Wayne Accuses Cash Money & Universal of Withholding Young Money Profits

Lil Wayne’s ongoing Birdman feud has a new layer.

Weezy’s lawyer Howard King has filed documents, claiming that Cash Money and Universal Music Group backdated a deal, making it seem like it was signed before Young Money’s deal ran out, according to TMZ.

That move blocked Wayne from making profits off of Young Money artists, according to these documents. If so, that would include acts like Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga, who were on the label roster at the time.

In 2015, Weezy sued Birdman for $51 million, claiming that Cash Money violated his deal. Last year, he also sought $40 million in damages from Universal Music Group over money he feels he’s owed for Young Money. Now, he believes that Cash Money and UMG worked together.

Tunechi’s ongoing legal battle has kept him from releasing the long-awaited Carter V, but it hasn’t stopped him from making music. Yesterday, Wayne dropped his four-track EP In Tune We Trust.
