The woman behind a lawsuit accusing Usher of giving her genital herpes has revealed her identity.
Jazz singer Laura Helm of Fulton County, Georgia, filed court papers on Tuesday alleging that Usher Raymond infected her with the Herpes Simplex 2 virus during a sexual encounter.
According to the Mail Online, Helm alleged that she had two sexual encounters with the Burn singer after their relationship became sexual in April of this year.
Helm claims that she was friends with the singer for years, but they engaged in ‘vaginal-penile intercourse’ after they spent the night together discussing Usher’s humanitarian efforts in Africa.
The court papers claim that Helm also performed oral sex on Usher without a condom, adding: ‘Afterwards, [Usher] immediately grabbed his penis and went into the the bathroom.
Defendant’s actions prevented [Helm] from being able to observe [Usher’s] ejaculate.’
Helm alleges that she met Usher in New Orleans two weeks after this encounter when they had sexual intercourse again, this time without a condom, as well as performing oral sex on each other.
The filings allege that Usher ran to the bathroom again, preventing Helm from observing his ejaculations.
She also alleges that the star showered before and after their encounters.
Helm claims that a few days later an ‘unusual bump’ appeared on the inside of her cheek, before ‘an unusual bump the size of a green pea that was painful to the press touch appeared on her vagina’.
In July, Helm learned that she had herpes, and claims to have suffered ‘extreme and debilitating mental, emotional and physical distress and anguish, humiliation and embarrassment’ as a result of the diagnosis.
She is suing Usher for $20 million (£1,480,000).
Usher has also been sued by Quantasia Sharpton and another person identified as John Doe, and has denied every allegation made against him.
