Cardi B’s ‘Bodak Yellow’ Tops Hot 100 for Second Week

After making history as the second unaccompanied female rapper to earn a No. 1 single on the Hot 100, the Bronx rapper retains the position for a second week with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).”

This ties her with Lauryn Hill, who also led the Hot 100 for two weeks with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998, according to Billboard. The distinction does not include female rappers who’ve reached No. 1 with guests or as guests, female rappers who were not credited, or female rappers who charted as part of a group.

Responding to the news on Instagram, Bardi wrote: “THANNNKKKK YOUUUU!!!!!! Everyyyyybodyyy .Im giving all my followers a Dollar…SIKEEEEEE!!!!…ain’t got money like that yet.”

Fans can expect more from Belcalis, who is planning to release a new freestyle on her birthday (Oct. 11) and her debut album by the end of the year.

Along with “Bodak Yellow,” all of the top 6 tracks on the chart remain unmoved, including Post Malone’s 21 Savage-assisted “rockstar” (No. 2), Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Make Me Do” (No. 3), Logic’s Alessia Cara and Khalid-featured “1-800-273-8255” (No. 4), Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Justin Bieber-guested “Despacito,” and French Montana and Swae Lee’s “Unforgettable” collaboration.

Elsewhere on the chart, Yo Gotti and Nicki Minaj pop up at No. 9 with “Rake It Up” and Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry” breaks into the top 10.
