    SVG and Taiwan Continue to Strengthen Relationship

    The relationship between this country and the Republic of China on Taiwan, continues to be strengthened, as both countries show their solidarity in tangible ways.

    At the 106th national Taiwan Day mix and mingle ceremony, which was held on Monday night, Ambassador Baushaun Ger outlined that Taiwan’s gross domestic product was estimated to reach more than 2%, and was 1st in freedom of press in all of Asia.

    Ambassador Ger, highlighted numerous projects under which Taiwan has helped to facilitate.

    He outlined an increase in the youth empowerment programme, which will receive an additional $1 million dollars while the assistance for disadvantaged students, will receive a boost amounting to over $500-thousand e.c dollars.

    Minister of Health & the Environment, Luke Browne who spoke on behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves and Minister of Economic Planning Camillo Gonsalves, expressed gratitude to Taiwan, for being a country that shared in tangible way.

    Diplomatic relations between St. Vincent & the Grenadines and the Republic of China on Taiwan began under former Prime Minister, Milton Cato, on the 21st August 1981.
