Fans of Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel are outraged following another snub from the MOBO Award in the Best Reggae Act category.

This year, vying for the coveted title are Aidonia, Alkaline, Chronixx, Damian Junior Gong Marley, and Popcaan.

However according to the “Fever” deejay fans, Vybz Kartel not being nominated is evidence that the show is rigged. “Joke thing dem people yah a pree eno,” one Gaza fan wrote. “No Vybz Kartel? Dash weh dat yo.”

Among the list of nominees, the “Unruly Boss” would be considered the front-runner having two MOBO wins under his belt after he copped back-to-back titles in 2015 and 2016. Meanwhile, Chronixx has been nominated twice both in 2014 and 2015 and Alkaline scored nominations in 2014 and 2016.

Damion Junior Gong Marley who is a Grammy veteran won his last MOBO award in 2005 but scored nominations in 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Meanwhile, dancehall deejay Aidonia is up for his first MOBO nomination.

The MOBO Awards which is the equivalent to the UK Grammys stands for “Music of Black Origin” and was established in 1996. The MOBO Award show is held annually in the United Kingdom to recognize artists of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music.

The 22nd annual MOBO Awards will take place on Wednesday, November 29.
