    Meek Mill Begins Prison Sentence

Shortly after being sentenced to 2-4 years of prison, the Philadelphia rapper took his mug shot and was processed by Pennsylvania’s Dept. of Corrections.

It is currently unclear where Mill will be serving his time in prison. For the time being, law enforcement officials will reportedly keep the prison name under wraps for security purposes, TMZ reports.

Mill’s legal team is expected to appeal the ruling. Yesterday, one of his lawyers, Joe Tacopina, accused Meek’s judge of “inappropriate” acts. He said that she requested the rapper remake Boyz II Men’s “On Bended Knee” with a personal shoutout to her and that he leave Roc Nation to sign with her friend.

Mill has been on probation for a 2009 drug and gun case. He’s served time in jail and on house arrest for violating probation and parole since then. This year, he was arrested for reckless driving in New York and assault in St. Louis. Charges in both cases were dropped, but the arrests led to a new prison sentence.

“I’ve been trying to help you since 2009,” the judge said at Meek’s latest hearing, referencing a failed drug test, failure to comply with travel restrictions, and his latest arrests. “You basically thumbed your nose at me.”

Many have spoken out in support of Mill, including JAY-Z. Following his initial statement, the Roc Nation boss interrupted his “4:44 Tour” set on Tuesday (Oct. 7) to address the situation.

“Meek Mill caught a charge when he was like 19,” said JAY. “He’s 30 now. He’s been on probation 11 years. Fin’ 11 years. Probation. 11 years. Judge just violated, he’s gotta do 2-4 years ’cause he got arrested for being on a bike, poppin’ a fin’ wheelie. Still ni**a.”
