Cardi B Makes Billboard History with Third Hot 100 Top 10

Cardi B makes Billboard history once again. This time, she becomes the first female rapper ever to land her first three Hot 100 entries in the top 10, thanks to the Migos and Nicki Minaj-assisted “MotorSport,” which peaks this week at No. 6.

Prior to this, Bardi topped the Hot 100 with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” and reached No. 7 with G-Eazy and A$AP Rocky’s “No Limit.” This week, “No Limit” is at No. 10, while “Bodak” sits at No. 11.

With this feat, Bacardi beats out Lil Mama, who reached the top 10 with “Lip Gloss” and her Chris Brown and T-Pain-assisted “Shawty Get Loose.” Both peaked at No. 10. Iggy Azalea also reached No. 1 with “Fancy” (featuring Charli XCX) and No. 2 with Ariana Grande’s “Problem.” Only four male rappers have ever done the same, including MC Hammer, Chingy, Juelz Santana, and Fetty Wap.

Cardi is just the sixth female rapper to notch three Hot 100 top 10s, following Nicki Minaj (15), Missy Elliott (9), Eve and Lil’ Kim (4), and Iggy Azalea (3).

In September, Cardi became the second unaccompanied female rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100. By November, she became the first woman ever to have her first three top 10s on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart simultaneously.

Cardi is now prepping the release of her next hit, “Cardier Cardi,” as well as her debut album.
