Beenie Man and his family won’t be celebrating Christmas this year.

The veteran Dancehall artist along with girlfriend Krystal Tomlinson announced on Tuesday that they’ll only be recognising Kwanzaa this holiday season.

Tomlinson shared a photo with the Doc along with two of his kids Mosiah and Ikyra with the caption, “Happy Kwanzaa. This morning we lit the Umoja (Unity) Candle to signal the beginning of our 7 day celebration of the African family, culture, ethos and heritage.”

The children are curious and Ikyra is doing a deep dive into NguzoSaba principles. —— Today we recognise the principle and practice of Umoja to affirm a sense of unity in our home, the black community and the diaspora. #OurCulture #OurLegacy#Kwanzaa #AfricanFamily,” she added.

Beenie also reposted the photo and wrote, “Just reach in back from the #gttaylorchristmasextravaganza in time to light the #Umoja candle with my family. Happy Kwanzaa! 🌺 .”

Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration held in the United States and in other nations of the African diaspora in the Americas. The celebration honors African heritage in African-American culture and is observed from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a feast and gift-giving.
