Cardi B Ties Billboard Record With Beyoncé

On Thursday, Billboard announced the 25-year-old Bronx rapper Cardi B has secured four of the top 10 tracks on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart, for the second week in a row. Her feature on G-Eazy’s “No Limit” with ASAP Rocky took the No. 2 spot; her assist on Migos’ “Motorsport” also featuring Nicki Minaj came in at No. 3; her debut single “Bodak Yellow” landed at No. 5; and her “Bartier Cardi” track with 21 Savage is at No. 9.

It’s a pretty impressive feat that has been accomplished by only one other female artist: Beyoncé. In May of 2016, four of Queen B’s hits were simultaneously in the chart’s top 10: “Formation” (No. 6), “Sorry” (No. 7), “Hold Up” (No. 8), and “6 Inches” featuring the Weeknd (No. 10).

It’s also worth noting that other than Cardi and Bey, only six other acts have had four songs in the chart’s top 10 within the same week. 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Eminem, 2 Chainz, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar have all accomplished this milestone; the latter two are actually the only artists who have ever secured five tracks in the top 10.

Cardi’s winning streak has been well documented in various Billboard charts. Earlier this month, it was announced she became the only rapper to have her first three Hot 100 singles in the top 10 simultaneously. Several weeks prior, she became the first female rapper to have her first three singles in the top 10. And back in September, Cardi became the first female rapper in nearly two decades to top the Hot 100 chart without any features.

Cardi is now gearing up to release her highly anticipated debut album, which means she’ll likely reach more chart milestones within the upcoming months.
