Kendrick Lamar to Perform at Grammys

7-time Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar will reportedly open this year’s show, according to Billboard. He is up for seven awards for his critically-acclaimed album DAMN., including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Rap/Sung Performance, and Best Music Video.

This will mark Lamar’s third Grammy performance, following his 2016 medley of “The Blacker the Berry” and “Alright” and his electrifying set with Imagine Dragons in 2014.

Aside from the Compton MC, the newly-announced list of performers includes U2, Sam Smith, Elton John, and Miley Cyrus.

Elton John, the recipient of the Merit Award, will be joined onstage by Cyrus. Two days later, John and his writing partner Bernie Taupin will be celebrated for their work at the CBS taping of “Elton John: I’m Still Standing — A Grammy Salute.”

The latest additions only amp up an all-star cast of performers that was previously announced, including Bruno Mars, Cardi B, SZA, Alessia Cara, Khalid, Logic, Lady Gaga, and Childish Gambino, among others.

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards is set to air live from New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
