Spice Shades Jamaican Government After Being Invited to Perform in Antigua

Spice is not one forget the ones that disrespected her.

The Dancehall artiste was invited to Antigua and Barbuda by Prime Minister Gaston Browne to perform at his Labour party launch over the weekend.

On Tuesday, the ‘Queen of Dancehall’ uploaded footage from her energetic performance. In her caption, Spice lauded PM Browne for inviting her while taking jabs at the Jamaican government who allegedly cut her microphone back in 2016 when she was booked to perform at Rio Sports Gala and Awards ceremony at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

“When the Prime minister for Antigua honorable Gaston Brown send for you to perform at his Labour party launch I guess you know what time it is. The people want the party nice so they send for Spice 😜. Guess what , they didn’t “turn off my Mic ” 😜🤣,” she wrote.

Following the 2016 incident, Spice shared that she was embarrassed in front of her own country however organisers claimed they never interrupted her performance.

“We did not cut Spice’s performance. The incident that occurred was from her side! We asked all the acts scheduled to perform to come to a technical rehearsal the day before and every performing artiste showed up, except Spice. We even asked them to bring their own disc jocks because we know how technical this issue could get. Spice and her people came when the show had started and her DJ was in a tizzy! He was even saying to our technical operator that he isn’t even sure that the CD would work and that was even before Spice went on the stage. He took over the console, played the music, and so said so done,” organizers said.
