The “autograph hound” reportedly attacked by Cardi B and Offset’s bodyguards last week after Cardi refused to give him an autograph has sued the two artists, TMZ writes.
The lawsuit claims Cardi B shouted “F-k outta here na, I will slap the shit out of you” at the man, Giovanni Arnold, as she was stepping out of a Met Gala afterparty at the Mark Hotel just after 2 a.m. last week. In response, Arnold claims he “expressed disappointment with being ignored.” Offset, who was just behind Cardi, told him: “Shut up, bro, before a na beat you out here.”
The lawsuit claims Arnold tries to de-escalate the situation, but three bodyguards attacked him “within seconds.” He claims he didn’t fight back and instead lied on the ground and tried to protect his body. Arnold was taken to a hospital and alleges that he suffered injuries to his face, neck, back, and more.
Neither artist has commented publicly on the incident, unless you count Cardi’s quickly deleted tweet from last week in which she wrote: “If you check my tag pics i take a lot of pics with fans. Some people are not fans & sometimes i don’t want no pics and i simply don’t want people too close cause of [pregnant woman emoji] i don’t know what are people’s intentions sooo i Be careful. Why can’t people respect that?”
A separate video, also obtained by TMZ, showed Arnold asking to be beat up as the situation got heated. “Please beat me up! Be a fool, man,” he says in one video.
In late April, after Cardi refused to take a photo with fans at a mall in Las Vegas, bodyguards and security crew had to physically keep people away from Cardi. She reportedly defended herself after that incident too, writing on Twitter: “I walked all the way to the store and they still follow me trying to argue with me. If I respectfully told you I don’t want to take a picture your drunk ass shouldn’t get close to me and disrespect my decision, space, or privacy!”
