A picture of Tommy Lee Sparta reportedly taken while in police custody has gone viral.
The photo surfaced online Monday just hours after the popular entertainer was detained. Tommy Lee Sparta can be seen handcuffed wearing only a white underpants with a black handkerchief around his neck. The image was taken behind a steel grill door.
The “Uncle Demon” deejay, whose real name is Leroy Russell, was arrested just moments after leaving the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall finals.
Tommy Lee Sparta allegedly stopped at an ATM in St Andrew where masked police officers with guns accosted him and brought him to the Half Way Tree Police Station.
According to reports, detectives of the Counter-Terorrism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) and the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) want to question Sparta in relation to organised crimes in St. James.
The Gothic Dancehall artiste has a history of run-ins with the law. Last year, Tommy Lee was wanted by the Montego Bay cops for questioning in relation to ongoing violence in sections of the city.
In the summer of 2016, detectives in the Kingston Eastern division also listed him as a person of interest in relation to a shooting on Saunders Avenue.
