Attorneys representing Vybz Kartel has revealed that the entertainer is in good spirits and is anxious for his appeal case to progress despite being notably absent from Monday’s hearing.

Eyebrows were raised as the neither the Dancehall entertainer or his three co-accused were present for the first hearing in their appeal case on Monday.

According to Kartel’s lead attorney, Valerie Neita-Robertson, the decision was made by the deejay as he did not deem his presence necessary. She revealed that the deejay remains in good spirits and is just eager for his matter to be addressed.

Neita-Robertson says that emphasis should not be placed on the deejay’s absence, as he has placed his full trust in his legal team and is fully aware of all the grounds they plan to argue and has offered his input.

Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer, along with his co-accused Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John are seeking their 2014 convictions for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

On Monday a panel of judges granted the requests of his lawyers to allow fresh evidence to be heard in his appeal case.
