Buju Banton and the promoter of his first post-prison concert are now being targeted by scammers.

The incarcerated Reggae superstar, who is scheduled to be released from prison in the United States on December 8, 2018, is already finding himself the victim of scammers who are trying to capitalize on his high demand.

The deejay is scheduled to make his first live performance following his almost 10-year prison sentence in April 2019. The show, which is dubbed “I Am Legend,” will be staged in Trinidad & Tobago.

However, according to event organizers, High Frequency Entertainment LLC, the concert is already being targeted by scammers who are contacting patrons pretending to be official promotional representatives.

They have since issued an official statement warning fans not to engage in any business transactions with third party individuals or groups claiming to represent the company outside their official mediums of contact.

The promoters also advised patrons who have been contacted by individuals claiming to represent Buju Banton trying to solicit money to immediately contact the Fraud Squad of the Trinidad and Tobago.

Buju Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, is currently serving the last few months of his 10-year prison sentence on drug-related charges. He is scheduled to be deported back to Jamaica following his release.
