Less than two months after its release, Lil Wayne’s latest album Tha Carter V is eligible for platinum status after moving one million units. While the RIAA has yet to officially certify the project, Wayne celebrated the news on Instagram.
“THANK YOU !!” a grateful Weezy told his 10 million followers.
C5, which spawned the Swizz Beatz-produced hit “Uproar,” debuted at No. 1 with 480,000 equivalent album units following its release in September and scored the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album.
Weezy, who recently performed on “SNL” and at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, has since released a trio of bonus tracks off Tha Carter V including collaborations with Post Malone and Gucci Mane.
He can also be heard “Amen” off the newly-released Creed II: The Album.
