Cardi B may not regret her feud with Nicki Minaj, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t have its downsides.
“It’s unnecessary, but am I ever embarrassed about anything that I do? No,” the “Money” rapper, 26, said when asked about her frequently bitter quarrel with Minaj, 36, on “CBS Sunday Morning.”
That said, she also realizes it may not have been the best idea to spend much of the year publicly beefing with the older rapper.
“I think it’s bad for business. You know, a lot of people like to say ‘all publicity is good publicity’ — to me it’s not, because that takes away of people paying attention to your craft,” she explained. “It makes people not even care about your craft, they just wanna see drama.”
Two of the biggest names in hip-hop, Cardi and Minaj have been at each other’s throats since the younger emcee broke through with her smash hit single “Bodak Yellow” last year. The ill will between the two culminated in a full-on brawl at New York Fashion Week in September.
Despite their very clear distaste for one another, they reached something of a truce in October, though both have taken sly, and not-so- sly, digs at one another since.
