Monica and Shannon Brown are calling it quits.
After eight years of marriage, the R&B singer filed for divorce from her former NBA star husband earlier this month in Atlanta, according to TMZ. The couple shares a 5-year-old daughter named Laiyah, and Monica has two sons, Romelo and Rocko, from a previous relationship with rapper Rocko.
There was speculation that Monica, 38, and Brown, 33, split in October 2018. Monica dispelled the rumors by sharing a photo of the couple along with Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa that same month, but she hasn’t been pictured wearing her ring on Instagram in recent weeks.

The couple wed in 2010 after the former Laker co-starred in Monica’s “Love All Over Me” video. They tied the knot in November of that year.
In a 2010 interview with Rap-Up TV, Monica spoke about her then-budding relationship with Brown. “We don’t keep secrets, we have a great time, we share each other’s jobs, and we share each other’s interests,” she said.
It’s unclear whether Monica is seeking child or spousal support, but she has been unable to seal the divorce docs.
